In the height of the Mallorcan summer, when the air hums softly with cicadas and the land moves at a slower, sun-warmed pace, Aki Sound Studio invites you to step away from the noise of daily life and into a deeply nourishing space of presence, listening, and renewal.

Set within Osa Major, a private sanctuary nestled among rolling hills and ancient olive trees, this intimate 6-day retreat is an invitation to soften, to remember the wisdom of the body, and to reconnect with the quiet intelligence within. Here, time stretches gently. Mornings arrive with golden light and birdsong; evenings settle into long shadows, warm breezes, and the subtle resonance of sound.

Guided by AKI's co-founders Lama Brian Hilliard and Shannon Van Staden, the retreat weaves together meditation, heart-essence teachings, Tibetan Lujong yoga, Yin yoga, and alchemy sound healing into a seamless daily rhythm. Each practice is offered not as something to strive for, but as an opportunity to listen - to your breath, your body, and the deeper currents moving beneath the surface of your life.

MEET YOUR TEACHERS

Set within the field of AKI Sound Studio, this retreat is guided by co-founders Shannon van Staden and Lama Brian Hilliard — whose work has come to define a new standard for contemporary sound practice in Europe.

United by a shared vision, their work has taken them to some of the world’s most considered spaces, including retreats hosted with Aman and Belmond. This Mallorca gathering marks a rare return — and is likely to be a once-off experience.

Together, they hold a space that is both deeply rooted and intuitively led. Lama Brian’s lifelong devotion to Buddhist practice, mantra, and sound — shaped through years of study with Tibetan masters and a traditional three-year retreat — brings a depth that is felt as much as it is taught.

Shannon’s work in alchemy sound, yoga, and meditation offers a refined, embodied approach to resonance, creating experiences that are both expansive and deeply grounding. In Brussels, she opened Europe’s first Crystal Tones® sound studio — offering private consultations, immersive trainings, and a new way of working with sound, resonance, and somatic healing.

Joining them is guest teacher Loes Hartman, Reiki healer and holistic practitioner. Loes will guide a Kundalini yoga session alongside Shannon, accompanied by the Alchemy Crystal Singing Bowls, and offer one-on-one Reiki sessions as an additional offering.

WHAT THE DAY FEELS LIKE

You’ll wake slowly, perhaps before the heat rises, moving into gentle morning practices that awaken circulation and clarity. Tibetan Lujong yoga energises the body while grounding the mind, preparing you for meditation sessions that invite stillness, insight, and heartfelt connection.

Meals are shared communally and prepared with care - vibrant, nourishing vegetarian dishes that support digestion, vitality, and ease. Afternoons are spacious and unstructured, allowing time to rest by the pool, journal in the shade of olive trees, or simply gaze across the island’s vast, calming landscape.

One morning unfolds in golden silence, offering a rare and precious opportunity to experience Mallorca without words - to feel the subtle textures of sound, breath, and sensation without interruption. This silence becomes a doorway into deeper awareness and inner calm.

As the sun lowers, evenings gather you back into practice. Yin yoga and sound healing sessions invite you to release accumulated tension and soften into rest. Layers of tone, vibration, and resonance move through the body, supporting the nervous system and opening space for emotional clarity, integration, and deep restoration.



THE EMOTIONAL JOURNEY

This retreat is not about escape, but about returning - to yourself, to simplicity, and to the intelligence of slowing down. Many arrive carrying fatigue, mental noise, or creative depletion. Over the days, a quiet shift occurs: breath deepens, sleep improves, and a sense of inner steadiness begins to emerge.

You may experience moments of insight, emotional release, or profound stillness. You may also simply rest - truly rest - in a way that modern life rarely allows. All experiences are welcome, held within a small, supportive group where connection feels natural and unforced.

THE SPACE

Osa Major offers understated beauty and calm - a place that doesn’t demand attention but gently supports presence. Shared rooms foster a sense of community, while private corners throughout the property offer solitude whenever you need it. Everything you need is provided, from yoga props to soft blankets, allowing you to arrive with light luggage and an open heart.

With just 14 participants, this retreat maintains a deeply personal atmosphere, ensuring attentive guidance, spacious practices, and a sense of belonging that extends beyond the retreat itself.

RETREAT DETAILS

  • Location: Osa Major, Mallorca, Spain
  • Investment: €2,450 per person
  • Payment plan: 3 instalments — a €500 non-refundable deposit to secure your spot, followed by 2 payments of €975 (first payment due 16 May & final payment due 12 June).
  • Accommodation: Shared twin or double rooms (single options available on request)
  • Arrival: 11 July from 17:00 | Departure: 16 July by 10:00
  • Flights, transfers, and travel insurance are not included.

CANCELLATION POLICY

A €500 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your place. The remaining balance is due 30 days before the retreat begins.

Cancellations are only possible if your place can be reassigned. The €500 deposit is non-refundable under any circumstances. Refunds on the remaining balance depend on the timing of your cancellation:

  • More than 60 days before the retreat: 100% refund (minus the €500 deposit)
  • Within 60 days: 50% refund (minus the €500 deposit)
  • Within 14 days: no refund


Please note that no refunds are provided for personal or professional emergencies, illness, or travel disruptions. Participants are responsible for their own travel insurance and any related costs.

A week before the retreat we will connect all retreat guests, so that you can share taxis or hire cars. The taxi each way is approx. €55 and takes 35 minutes. It could also be economical to book/share a rental car for the duration of the retreat.

This is the perfect retreat for solo travellers. A way to truly connect with yourself as well as the beautiful like minded community.

The food is vegetarian with vegan options. Almost all ingredients come from the retreat garden Osa Verde. If you have any intolerances or special requests, please inform us when you register. We will enjoy daily brunch, a light snack and dinner with coffee included during brunch. Filtered water and tea will be available all day.

No, Osa Major will provide yoga mats, cork blocks, meditation cushions, belts, and blankets.

You will have quiet time for treatments, walks, journaling between brunch and the evening sessions / dinner. You can relax in the shade of ancient olive trees, take walks or enjoy the beautiful infinity pool.

Reiki sessions with Loes Hartman as well as a variety of massage therapists. These are not included in the retreat cost.
