SHANNON
Shannon van Staden is a Crystal Tones® Master Sound Healer, a meditation teacher, and a Chi Nei Tsang practitioner. Her work sits at the meeting point of harmonic resonance, energy healing and somatic transformation.
Before Brussels, she lived and practiced in a Buddhist meditation community in France. That is where the discipline behind her teaching was formed, and where she met Lama Brian.
She went on to establish the first Crystal Tones sound studio in the capital of Europe. She has taught this training since it began, and she will be passing on all her knowledge to you.
THE LINEAGE
LAMA BRIAN
Brian left Vermont in 1987 and has given his life to Tibetan Buddhist teaching ever since, studying directly with masters most of whom are now gone. He completed a three year Vajrayana retreat guided by Tibetan masters in Nova Scotia.
Four of the eight evenings are his: where sound healing begins, how the alchemies, colours and notes meet the chakras, the music theory beneath all of it, and what binaural beats do to a brain. It is where that lineage meets the spiritual and the science of sound.

You have lain on a mat while sound moved through water, bone and tissue, and thought quietly: I would like to be able to give this.
To your mother. To the friend who has not slept properly in a year. To the clients who already trust you with their bodies. Perhaps, in time, to a room of strangers who leave lighter than they arrived.
Then you looked. Most of what is offered online is a weekend of playlists, or a video library and a certificate at the end of it. Depth is harder to find than it should be.
This is the same training we teach in our studio in Brussels. Taught live, in a group small enough that Lama Brian and Shannon can hear your bowl and tell you what to change.
THE ONE PRACTICAL THING
WHAT ABOUT BOWLS?
Many students arrive with a bowl or two already. If you do, bring them.
If you do not have any yet, there is no need to arrive with a full set. Most students build slowly, one bowl at a time, and begin with far less than they imagine.
An Alchemy bowl is formed from pure quartz in intense heat and infused with rare minerals and gems, and that is what gives each one a voice of its own. Many students begin on a cheaper bowl and come to an Alchemy later. That is simply what we have watched happen.
This is the one part of an online training that is genuinely harder from a distance, so we do not leave you to it. Everyone who pre-registers is offered a bowl consultation with the studio, at no cost (normally it's 35€). We listen to what you already own, what you want to give, and what you can spend. Then we help you choose.
Bowls travel worldwide and clear customs, so if you still need to order, do it by 10 October. Book your consultation before then.

The online training is €695. Those who pre-register before 13 September are held at €595. The same curriculum in our studio in Brussels is €850.
Included: all eight sessions live with Lama Brian and Shannon, the Level 1 curriculum, your bowl consultation with the studio, the digital course manual, replays of every session, and your certification.

QUESTIONS, ANSWERED
None. Level 1 begins at the beginning. Some arrive having never touched a bowl. Others are yoga teachers, therapists and practitioners adding sound to work they already do. Both belong here.
Yes. Playing every week for eight weeks is what turns instruction into instinct, and you cannot do that by watching. Your consultation with the studio is included, and we will help you begin with what is right rather than with everything. If you need to order, do it by 10 October so the bowls reach you before we start.
An Alchemy bowl is formed from 99.99 percent pure quartz in intense heat, then infused with rare minerals, gems and precious metals. That infusion is what gives each bowl a voice of its own. They are born of crystal and fire, shaped by heat rather than by hand, and each one emerges only once.
You can begin with a less expensive bowl, and some of our students do. We will only tell you what we have watched happen for years: many people buy a cheaper bowl first and end up with an Alchemy anyway. The difference tends to explain itself once you have played both.
There is no obligation to buy from us. When you are ready, the studio holds over 300 bowls, and your consultation is included.
Live. Every one of the eight sessions is taught in real time by Lama Brian and Shannon, with questions and feedback on your playing as you go. Nothing is prerecorded. Each session is recorded afterwards so you can return to it, and those replays stay with you for the length of the cohort.
Eight Wednesday evenings, 20:00 to 21:30 CET. We begin on 28 October and finish on 16 December 2026.
No. We finish on 16 December, a good week before Christmas, so nothing lands in the middle of the holidays. Eight Wednesday evenings, one after another, and then the year is yours again.
Yes. Complete the eight weeks and you receive your Level 1 certification, the same certification we award in the studio.
A 30 percent deposit books your place, and it is non-refundable. The remaining 70 percent falls due 10 days before we begin. The same terms we use for the training in Brussels.
We welcome one change of date per booking, with a small administration fee of €50. Write to us at hello@akisoundstudio.com and we will arrange it.
Level 2 goes further into intervals for emotional transformation, the shamanic instruments and voice work. It is taught in person in Brussels at the moment, and an online Level 2 is possible in the future. Finish Level 1 with us and we will write to you as soon as there are dates.
Life happens, and one missed evening will not undo you. Every session is recorded and waiting for you, and you can bring your questions to the following week. If you know in advance that you will miss several, write to us at hello@akisoundstudio.com before you register and we will tell you honestly whether this cohort is the right one.
