The medicines of the earth and sky - from sacred plants to pure sound - are gifts from the mother. They’ve guided us for generations, helping us heal, remember, and reconnect. These teachings aren’t always obvious. They are secret for they reveal themselves when we’re ready.
At AKI, we’ve spent years of deep listening for these teachings. Through our sound practice, and through the transformative practices originating from the Peruvian Amazon and Tibet - we’ve felt these mother lineages come alive. They are woven into everything we offer.
What Are the Mother Lineages?
We often call them secret teachings. Not because they’re hidden away, but because they can’t be grasped by intellect alone. They live in silence, in symbols, in sound. They emerge when longing, devotion, and readiness emerge.
In our Power of Sound Healing Trainings, you’ll find more than techniques. There are threads of these lineages embedded throughout - teachings that whisper to and resonate with those who are open to receive them. These include:
- The Dakini Lineage - feminine sky-travellers that live in presence, spontaneity, and the playful brilliance of now.

Two Paths, One Source
Over the years we have each been steeped in these teachings:
Lama Brian recently taught a ten-day group retreat centred on a dakini wisdom mandala - a sacred energetic field where the wisdom of the mother is revealed in the immediacy of now. Her energy is elusive, magical, sparkling. The dakini is enticing us within the presence of brilliant awareness, way beyond good or bad. Lama Brian originally received this empowerment from Tibetan masters in 1983.
Shannon has just returned yet again to the Peruvian Amazon for the ten-day Ayahuasca retreat, held by a skilled curandero. Over five night ceremonies, she met the spirit of the medicine - La Madre. The experience was profoundly healing, often confronting, and continues to unfold in her daily life. With it has come a deepened sense of connection - to nature, to others, and to daily life.
Weaving the Lineages into Sound
These teachings return with us - not as ideas, but as presence. That’s why our newly updated training manuals are woven with an empowered language. Lama Brian observed during the final revisions how even a single phrase may awaken profound connection to the source. These mysteries live here - in real time, with real people, in shared space.
And this is the magic of crystal sound. The alchemy of tone and vibration reawakens what we already know deep down. In sound baths, the dakinis may be dancing when the sounds meet the emotions. The plant spirits may stir as crystal tones resonate within the subtle body, the quantum field. The Mother speaks in pure frequencies - and we listen, not just with ears, but with our whole being.
The Mother Within
There are many manifestations of the mother: the healer, the protector, the guide, the giver of life. Her love is vast, her wisdom endless. Whether through sound, plants, or the presence of awareness, she reminds us how to live with devotion, how to serve with care, and how to give with an open heart.
